What's the large, green box in Town Hall?
It's a Med Return box. The unique box was delivered to Town Hall the first week of April.
Thanks to Injury Prevention Wyoming, Shoshoni now has a safe, simple, secure and environmentally friendly way to collect unwanted or expired household medication, including prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs and unused pharmaceuticals. Shoshoni residents no longer need to wait for a medication "take-back" day, instead they now can drop off their unused or expired medications any time 8 to 4 pm Monday through Friday in Town Hall.
Items that can be accepted are:
Prescriptions, prescription patches, prescription medications, prescription ointments, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, medication/vitamin samples and medications for pets.
Items not allowed:
Inhalers, thermometers, needles, non-prescription ointments, lotions or liquids, aerosol cans or hydrogen peroxide.
The Shoshoni Town Council would like to thank, Tauna Groom-Smith, at Injury Prevention Wyoming for providing the town with a safe option for medication disposal. The town encourages citizens to dispose of medications safely. NEVER dispose of medications, prescription or over-the-counter, down the toilet.
